Users
1. Users are Georges Vanier Chinese School’s current students, their parents, faculty and staff. This may include persons who are approved by the School in advance.
2. Users are not allowed to use other account without the School’s permission.
Accessing GVCHINESE
3. The School determines the first day and the last day of access for each User.
GVCHINESE Users
4. There are three different types of users.
A) “Student” User:
For current student
B) “Parent” User:
For parent or guardian of current student who are recognized by the School
C) “Faculty and Staff” User:
For current faculty and staff
Your Access Information
5. Your account ID and password are given to YOU. Do not share your account with others and do not use somebody else’s account.
6. Do not share access information between a student and their parent. Please keep in mind that viewable information may be different for each user and the content you see is highly confidential.
Maintaining Access Information
7. You are responsible to maintain your password.
- Do not give your password to others
- Your password should be complicated enough so that others cannot find your
password.
- Log out every time after use. When you use open-to-public computers, make
sure to log out GVCHINESE and close your browser.
- Change your password regularly.
8. In case your password is used by somebody else and any change was made, it
may be considered that the change was made by you.
9. In case the School finds that your password is used by unauthorized person, the School may change your password without your permission in advance.
Email Address
10. Your registered email address for GVCHINESE must be maintained by you.
11. The School may send confidential information to your email address.
12. Do not share your email address with others ? even between parent and child or friends.
13. In case the School finds your email address is shared by others, the School may delete your email address from GVCHINESE
14. You are responsible for the maintenance of your email address that is registered to GVCHINESE.
Maintaining Confidential Information
15. Be aware that GVCHINESE may provide you confidential information.
16. Any confidential and personal information cannot be shared by others.
17. Users must make an effort to prevent computer viruses, unauthorized access and leaked information from illegal use.
Prohibited Actions
18. By using GVCHINESE, you agree not to:
- upload, post, distribute, transmit, share, store offensive, illegal material or that might violate the rights, harm, or threaten the safety of Users or others;
- upload, post, distribute, transmit, share, store unsolicited information or advertisements;
- use in any unlawful manner that could damage, disable, overburden or impair GVCHINESE;
- upload, post, distribute, transmit, share, store any content that the School considers it may be harmful, threatening, unlawful, defamatory, infringing, abusive, inflammatory, harassing, vulgar, obscene, fraudulent, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, hateful, or racially or ethnically;
- Any manner that the School recognizes inappropriate for educational and organizational purposes.

19. The School is not responsible to store all uploaded contents by users.
20. The School may delete any inappropriate content without user’s permission.
Maintaining System
21. The School reserves the right, at our sole discretion, change, suspend or terminate the system at any time without further notice.
Terms of Use
22. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to change, modify, add, or delete portions of these Terms of Use at any time without further notice
23. Your continued use GVCHINESE after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms of Use.
24. The School may delete any content or information that you have posted or prohibit you from using or accessing the site for any reason, or no reason, at any time in its sole discretion, with or without notice.
